The Rules

1. All persons visiting the fishery do so at their own risk, Hillhead Fishery accept no responsibility for any injury, loss or damage to persons or property, howsoever caused.

2. All children/youths must be accompanied with a responsible adult, it is the responsibility of the adult to ensure that the children wear eye protection; these are available at the lodge.

3. Wading is not permitted at the lake.

4. No bait fishing on the main lake.

5. Fishing by fly only, using generally accepted tackle and techniques. Only one fly larger than the standard size 10 to be attached to the leader. Maximum two flies to the cast.

6. Only flies dressed on single point hooks are allowed. These must be barbless (conventional hooks with barbs removed are accepted). Double, treble, multi-hook flies, flicker spoons and propellers are not allowed. Buoyant patterns such as boobys and floating fry fished on sinking lines are not allowed.

7. Bait fishing by worm only - all other forms of baiting banned.

8. Lines must not be discarded; it is a danger to wildlife as well as unsightly. PLEASE TAKE IT HOME WITH YOU.

9. All fish caught must be landed with a landing net, those fish to be kept must be dispatched quickly fish to be returned should be handled gently (preferably while still in the water). Any fish which shows signs of bleeding or stress, must be KILLED and counted as part of the limit.

10. Anglers are expected to behave in a polite and courteous manner at all times, not in a manner than is detrimental to the fishery or other anglers.

11. No alcohol is to be consumed on the site.

12. All anglers to log catch in the fishing lodge before leaving the site (for stocking purposes).

13. The management of Hillhead Fishery reserve the right to examine any equipment, clothing bag or vehicle of anyone visiting the fishery.

14. The management reserve the right to expel or refuse admission to any person as they deem necessary.

15. The use of ultrabite or any other bite attracting substance is stricly forbidden. Any angler found using a substance or with a substance on their person will be banned.

16. All fish over 3lb weight must be returned to the lake.

THE MANAGEMENT OF HILLHEAD FISHERY DEVISED THESE RULES TO TRY AND ENSURE THAT ALL ANGLERS ARE ABLE TO ENJOY THE FISHERY.
